By issuing these licenses, the Ministry aims to sustain the sector of ports as well as maritime transportation as well as the logistics system, to enhance tourism, commercial as well as industrial markets in Oman
The Ministry of Transportation, Communications and also Infotech, stood for by the Directorate General of Ports, introduced that it released 6 licenses for 5 business to handle and also run marine berths for tourist as well as business objectives, after they satisfied the requirements and provisions of the guideline for establishing, taking care of and also running marine berths outside ports.
The licenses provided to the business include 4 tourist licenses given to Al Marsa Traveling and Tourist Business in the Wilayat of Dibba, Musandam Governorate, with a berth length of 250 meters; Saraya Bandar Al Jissah Business (Muscat Bay) in Muscat Governorate, with a berth size of 105 meters; Muriya Tourist Development Business (Jabal Al Sifah) in Muscat Governorate, with a berth length of 864 meters; and Muriya Tourist Growth Firm (Hawana Salalah) in Dhofar Governorate, with a berth size of 482 meters.
The Ministry also granted two licenses to handle and operate marine berths outside the ports for industrial functions. The licenses were given to Oman LNG Firm in the Wilayat of Sur in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, with a size of 150 meters, and Al Shorooq Marine Handling and also Navigating Firm in the Wilayat of Sur, in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, with a length of 305 meters.
By providing these licenses, the Ministry intends to sustain the market of ports and also maritime transport as well as the logistics system, to enhance tourism, business and also commercial sectors in the Sultanate of Oman, to arrange the ports as well as marine anchors field, and to increase their quality and straighten them with maritime safety needs.
The ministry called upon local and also international business and investors concentrated on the development, administration and operation of ports and berths to see the financial investment possibilities announced by the Ministry with various media and also the policies governing this vital field.
